Description and Tasting Notes

Erbaluce is one of Italys native grapes that hasn’t travelled outside of its immediate growing area in the Gattinara area of Alto Piemonte. Caluso is the town that Erbaluce is most connected with. Legend has it that the fairy Albaluce blessed the township of Caluso with Erbaluce  which gave the variety its name, its also a reference to the bright colour of the grape- luce. Erbaluce makes a light wine that has white floral notes, a crispness from its high acidity and a minerality and fruity notes including citrus, apricot and crisp apple. They show a beautiful balance.

Antoniolo  was established in 1947 is acknowledged as one of the best producers in Gattinara. All wines undergo a spontaneous long fermentation using indigenous yeasts. This is a beautifully balanced wine with medium aromas of floral that follow through with a crisp palette and hints of grapefruit and a mineral flint. Light and crisp with great complexity and length.
