Garofoli Podium Verdicchio dei Castello di Jesi DOC 2017

$45

Description and Tasting Notes

Verdicchio is considered a noble gape in Italy and is capable of producing wines with great complexity and longevity. It has been documented as growing in the hills of Castello di Jesi since at least the 14th century and is thought to have been introduced to the Le Marche region by Venetian traders.

The Garofoli estate has operated under the same family since 1871. It is the grand wine house of the Le Marche region and the Podium is a benchmark wine. It is 100% Verdicchio vinified in stainless steel and gives a true expression of the grape.  This elegant wine with a big structure offers a wealth of aromas and substantial longevity. Those premium characteristics are due to a low yield per acre, delayed harvesting of selected grapes and maturation in steel vats for at least one year before bottling.
