Description and Tasting Notes

Neroametà is a white wine vinified from black grapes. It is an homage to the region’s history and triadition as well as a representation of the Mastroberardino family’s passion for Aglianico and that grape variety’s tremendous versatility. The fruit for Neroametà is sourced from the Mastroberardino family’s Mirabella Eclano estate in the heart of the Taurasi DOCG production zone. An epicenter for Aglianico production, research, and experimentation, this estate is spread over several hills with varying exposures. Neroametà is produced from 100% Aglianico grapes that undergo a fermentazione in bianco—a fermentation typically used for white wines: the skins are removed shortly after pressing and fermentation takes place in stainless steel at low temperature. After fermentation the wine refines for about 10 months sur lies with another 6 months in bottle.

Neroametà is fresh and vibrant with delicate aromas of crushed stone, wild strawberry and violets. The Aglianico grape’s naturally high acidity pairs with the wine’s plump mouthfeel to keep the profile racy and refreshing. A slight phenolic texture can be detected on the finish, which is refined and elegant.
